A Fine Engraved DB Percussion Pocket Pistol
Ebony grips and finely engraved barrels – a Dandy’s pistol of the mid 19th Century
Perfect for the overcoat or inside belt, this finely engraved and very presentable pistol is most likely by a French maker about 1830-1840 and in the style of PEYRET A LYON. The frame – which bears the initials “WB”- the hammers and tang are extensively engraved with acanthus foliate and both .38 calibreĀ barrels are finely etched with an unusual wavy scrolled pattern. The butt is of fine ebony and together with the quality construction and scrolling, indicates that it was custom-made in the day.
This is a fine specimen of the genre and very worthy of the collector’s portfolio.
