Hopkins & Allen Ranger No2 .30 cal revolver

A ladies favourite, the No 2 is reputed to have been carried by Calamity Jane.
Hopkins & Allen manufactured many small calibre pocket revolver models at their Norwich, CT factory between 1868 and 1917, wwhen the company went bankrupt.

Ours is a clean nickel-plated model with walnut birdseye grips and fluted six-shot cylinder with replacement cylinder pin. Hammer and trigger  in blue/grey patina; mechanically sound. The barrel is engraved “PAT.MARCH 28 1871” and the topstrap “HOPKINS & ALLEN MF’G. CO” and  “RANGER NO 2.”

This is a great example of late nineteenth century  pocket pistols and worthy of the collector’s portfolio.
