A Pair of European Percussion Pistols
Mid-19th Century travelling pistols
This pair of man stoppers feature .70 calibre three-stage barrels with sterling silver escutcheons and chequered grips. The stock shape, butts and triggers indicate probable Belgian (Liege) origin from the 1830-1850 period. They are of solid, military grade construction but of civilian design and have undergone an earlier re-finish. Very crisp and sound mechanics. The butt plates feature shell motif covers (revealing storage cavity for caps) and they have original iron ramrods.
